Yesterday I was driving and I took it up to about 4k and shifted to 2nd not too hard harder than normal, and my friend next to me said he heard something snap or pop.

Here's all I can say about it, when the car is on it wont go into any of the gears, if I start it in gear it makes like a robot whirring noise, not so much grinding just like i dont know LOL, and I can take it out of gear, but it doesnt want to go in gear while the car is running.

Now when the car is off, itll go into gear just fine, goes into all of them fine and perfect. The clutch pedal is fine too good pressure and everything.

Here's is what I can come down too...it cant be the synchros because it goes into every gear, or diff because i took both wheels off the ground and put it in gear and spin the tires it does what its supposed to do. Then I thought it cant be the shifting fork because it goes into all the gears fine. and Its not something with the shifter because it'll switch the gears fine.

So the only thing I can come down to is something inside the trans, like the clutch or pressure plate, I dont think its the flywheel or else the car probably wouldnt start, so you guys have any ideas? or has it happened to you before?

thats basically what happened to me...i ended up replacing EVERYTHING in the clutch assembly...

clutch pedal spring $5
master cylinder $40
clutch lines $40
slave cylinder $30
clutch release fork $70
throwout bearing \
clutch | $250
pressure plate /

i replaced ALL of those, and it is PERFECT now
if you buy everything OEM and do it yourself, it costs about $400-$450 depending on where you get your parts and what deals/rip-offs you get

i probably didnt HAVE to replave EVERYTHING, but i did because we asked at least 10 MASTER mechanics, and they looked at it and couldnt tell us what was wrong.

its not a hard job really, just a PITA bleeding the new lines. the rest are just take bolts out, take piece out, put new piece in, put bolts back in...:thumb:

hope this helps a little, even if it isn't the best news you will hear about your car.

*edit* also, you may have loosened the tranny from the engine block, mine ALSO did that, and broke a bolting point (where a bolt goes) on the engine block

i just made a 3/16" thick metal bracket and used that in place of the broken piece, another FAIRLY easy job

so, check your tranny bolts (the ones that connect the bell housing to the block, not the ones that connect the BH to the gear box)

same exact thing just happened to me,
it;ll go into gear fine with engine off and with engine on it wouldnt want to go into gear.
When i press in clutch with engine on, i can hear a grinding noise coming from tranny.

have you fixed urs?
im in the process of finding out whats going on............damn i don't wanna buy new clutch kit..............

weird thing is that when i let the car rest for a while i will be able to drive the car for a bit, then all of a sudden it will not let me get into any gears at all again...............weird huh?
