Galant 1st gear

Anyone done this to their car?
I heard from a buddy of mine that you can convert your first gear to galant VR4 specs and it pulls a lot more harder.

No, the car does not pull harder. The Galant 1st gear is longer, which means you can go faster in first gear.

I think its more of a common mod for people that have 400+ HP. You can do it but I've heard if you dont have enough HP then your launches will suffer. Its supposed to give you 6 more MPH in first, and might help you not to hit your rev limiter so easily. Having this gear also helps get you into 2nd gear a little easier at full throttle.

i got it. ill let you know how it works out when my car is done. my rev limit is raised to 8800 so ill see what my mph in first gear is. if your interested in getting the tranny i have a spare galant vr4 tranny.
