Well I finally pu tmy car up on the lift. AS some of you know my 4th gear doesn't like to work and I bought new Forks, 3/4 hub and sleeve, GVR4 1st gear, new bearings, snap rings, trash magnet, all new srynchros, the works. Well we finally drop the tranny, and my stock clucth is Toast, not even funny, my Fly wheel is DONE, so bad and is worn away pretty nicely. Good thing I got a Fidanza and a new clutch.
So Anyway we take apart the tranny, it STINKS and the gear oil is solid black. My magnet is SO overrun with metal it isn't even funny, huge. My revers gear is in BAD shape and needs to be replaced, how much does that cost? I ALSO need a 1/2 Hub and sleeve on top, this is costing me so much and I do not have a tranny to rape parts off of, so bad.
My car was supposed to be done tomorrow, but now looks like Monday and another $300 for parts.
Lesson? CHANGE YOUR GEAR OIL, I didn't and he said that most of this damage was because of it,
is it bad, much worse then I thought. But now My tranny will be built to the best it can be and I'll will be shifting shortly.
