Should I Buy This Transmission???

Hey guys so 1st gear in my talon is officially gone. There is a guy around here that will sell me an AWD trans for $100. He says it sometimes grinds from 2nd to 3rd but was totally drivable and was no worse than the average DSM trans. For $100 that sounds OK to me because I'll be moving soon and I'd love to go back home with 1st gear. I figure I can just drive around with this trans while I save money to send my old one to jacks. I know I'll have to buy a few other little things to finish the install but that's really cheap to have all gears again... what do you guys think???

It ups to you bud, If it will get ya by then go for it.

Just keep in mind that if its actually worse than described it would really suck.

If interested in a known working tranny (all gear work and no grinding or pop outs) pm me.

it would be a serious bummer if the trans was worse after going thru all the work for a trans that pops out of gear. if i do end up buying it hopefully the guy is being honest and not just looking for an ez $100 while making me do this:

sounds like a lot of hassle, i would wait and keep shopping.

I would just keep shopping. If it was me i wouldn't want to buy that transmission then everything is worse then it is then you got to get another rebuild. I would just wait or rebuild your old transmission.
