Transmission Swaps

I'm doing a project for school on transmissions, and I've decided to continue with using DSMs for all these projects. I was researching my Spyder's trans and came across the W6MG1 trans that goes to the 3000gt. According to the site I use for many automotive things for school and elsewhere, the 3kGT's used the same 5-spd trans as DSMs. That being said, the W6MG1 is a 6-spd. I want to know if it will fit on our engines.
