Are synchromesh fluids good for high mileage transmission?

Hey guys been a while since ive been on the forums aside from searching. Right now i am about to do the clutch in my mostly stock 220k miles 91 awd (3" TBE, K&N, fmic/ greddy rs). I am doing a stock clutch/flywheel. I was wondering if it would be fine to use something like pennzoil synchromesh? As it is now there are no shifting issues but was thinking the synchromesh would kinda smoothen things out but was also worried about any ill side side effects because of the high mileage because i did some research and found some synchromesh fluids are not good for our synchros. Any info is appreciated.

Thats the reason why jack from jacks transmissions will not honor his warranty if you use that fluid in his rebuilds.

I have a can of diaqueen sitting around of my trans on its next fluid change.

Mitsu designed this fluid specifically to reduce the wear rate on evo's who had something weird going on in their boxes from the factory.

I used redline in the meantime until I found mitsu fluid.

Oh jeeze, do you know what fluid he recommends? Just curious.

I would like to get MT90 but $15 a quart is kinda steep IMO. What other options are there as far as just going to a parts store to get it?

mt90, as do many others.

diaqueen is 110 ish for a almost gallon (or enough to fill the box)

redline is 15 /qt

Syncromesh is what 8 or so?

redline has been shown to be sufficient. Those who want the very best can get diaqueen if they want.

I was just saying it is available, and it has been recommended as the very best by reputable people.

Yes I would trust anything someone who builds transmissions for a living REPUTABLY, over anything that some boob says.

And yes I have used syncromesh (without really looking into it). It was not as good as what came in the box from the factory, and that was 20+ years old, I will say that is did "work". I promptly switched to redline. and my shifts have improved.

I wouldnt want to save $20 on something that costs 1000+ to rebuild. maybe thats ok with some people... :banghead:

Stumbled across my source again. good read. good source. NOT hearsay.
