97 tsi drive shaft vibration

I am working on a 97 TSI and i have drive shaft vibration under the car when i accelerate? i have replaced the old rear transfer case seal that was leaking and is full and fine now. i have looked everything over and looks fine. i am not sure at this point what it is? any help would be great. thanks

Check the u-joints, carrier bearing, and carrier bearing bushings for wear.

what kind of condition are your rubber driveshaft mounts? Or the carrier bearings? you may need a rebuild of the driveshaft.

the u-joints are all good. no play in them at all. and the carrier baring is ok it might need a new one.

Go to a Mitsu dealer. Get the Yoke kit (3 of them). Pretty cheap and good oem u-joints. You will have 2 spare yokes when finished

I spent the money to buy the rebuild kit from JNZ, it is like $260.00 bucks but it replaces all the parts with OEM parts i.e u-joints, carrier bearings, etc. I don't know if you can buy certain parts and i'm pretty sure somebody will chime in. I also had rocky mountain driveshaft rebuild it becuase i didn't have the proper tools to do this, besides i had them rebalance it also so it might have been a little pricey but hey it's one less part i can rule out if problems arise=) good luck man

I had a phantom shake on acceleration, found it to be a broken bolt on the l/f c/v shaft carrier where it bolts to the block. I had on broken bolt and the other was walking out. Something to check out also if you have the time.

I had a simliar vibration like that before and it ended up being a blown shock absorber. just throwing that out there. it didnt vibrate when down the road only when the gas pedal was pushed.

I will check both of those things. i have been looking at everything i can. but you can always miss that one thing. and yea i rebuild my GSX drive shaft so i know how to do it and have tools also good stuff though.
