Hey everyone!... i was just wondering if you could answer my question. My friend has a 1.8L 1st gen laser 5 speed. We were wondering if the 1.8L manual tranny will bolt up to the 2.0L block???... does anybody have any knowledge of this?!.. please post back

just thought it would be a cool idea to put a turbo engine in a N/A laser!

thanks

TIM

also- will the 1.8L computer work with the 2.0L engine?...

or is it just easier to turbo a 1.8L SOHC engine?

I really dont think you would want to bolt a N/A 1.8 tranny up to a turbo motor. Even if it did bolt up it wont be bolted up for long. You mind as well weld jackstands to the bottom of the car.LOL

Id say find a tranny, ecu, and the rest of the shpeel for the 4g63, rather then turbo the 1.8. It all depends how handy you are, how much time you got, and how many headaches you want to avoid.

Yeah... didn't think it was a good idea... but we just wanted to know if it was possible.

Actually we are gonna turbocharge his 1.8L... after he pulled AMAZING compression we figured what the heck.

thanks for the response!.... i really appreciate it.
