I was on the interstate late one night and decided to do a pull. needle was at the M in mph. and everything was fine till I went to downshift at my exit some 40 miles from when I did the pull. It was like it was stuck in neutral, I had to force it into gear to get the car out of the intersection and then it popped into second. it was not making any noise at the time really. now its a horrible groaning moaning grinding sound haha. I pulled it all apart tonight and it seems that somehow the teeth on the clutch disc sheared off. this would explain why I had no gears when I got off the interstate. but wth? is this a possible normal scenario for something like this to happen?
its an upgraded clutch, 4 puck, solid hub. and a shep trans. the trans I can move the input shaft by hand and both output shafts move in all gears with out any notches. I'm assuming this means the trans is fine, but what caused the disc to shear like that? car was driving fine that night..
