I'm about to do a 6 bolt swap, the engine is already bought, I want to put a new clutch in during this time. my goals are between 400-450hp. I've been searching clutches till I have a headache this big!!!! The clutch that lands on my cursor the most is the mb1-xtss which i think used to be called the ACT 2600.

This car isn't a daily driver but it will be driven at least twice a week and sometimes in ATL traffic, and anyone in ATL knows that can suck. I don't want to rip apart trannies and I don't want to walk funny because one leg is bigger then the other LOL.

And yes I have researched spec, southbend, clutchmasters, and the ebay shit, so I'm really asking about this kit only.

How hard will the pedal be? how harsh of engagement, etc. I'm not a racer but i do love the occasional tear up a red light and show off a tad

You are correct, it's also called a 2600. By the way, the "ss" designation at the end means it comes with a sprung street friction disc. You can also get the same clutch with sprung 6-puck, unsprung 6-puck, etc. ACT allows you to match whatever pressure plate to whatever friction disc, you aren't forced to buy a specific pre-packaged "stage" or whatnot.

Anyway, your question, how is the 2600? It's certainly harder on the leg than stock, but most guys find it easy to get used to. If you go with the sprung street disc, engagement is easy peasy. The puck discs are a little harsher. Do NOT get an unsprung disc for a street vehicle, these are race ONLY. Leave the race-only parts in a street-only car to the Honda guys, they love that sh*t.

:tease:Ah damn i was gonna put all the baddest bolt ons on with no tune and spray my car with primer and miss a few spots... but I don't have a honda LOL

Yeah I know I don't want a puck and definitely not a non sprung clutch. I originally looked at the HDSS but I'm afraid it won't be enough after talking with my buddy who will be doing most of the work. He said he would definitely go with a stronger pp but the disc would be fine. and I'm cool with it just wanted to make sure that I could drive it without the automatic play button pressed on LOL
