Broken Driveshaft or something else?

Friday I had just left work, I was slowing down at a red light when all off a sudden it had felt like my back wheels locked up and the rear of my car had start to slide. Yesterday I Lifted it up off of the ground and all my wheels spin freely. However I noticed that the over around the driveshaft where it goes into the rear diff is pretty beat up and kinda scared looking. I have noticed a whining sound for a few days down coming from my rear.Im going to start tearing it apart today, Any tips or insight would be a big help. Thanks guys.... I have also added pics and 2 videos, I took them with my phone sorry of the quailty sucks

Have you ever changed or have check the fluid in the differential over the time you have owned? If you have tore into it already, then you see that you have a **** load of play on the pinion shaft. A new seal will be needed at the least, because of the leak that looks to be fresh in the photograph. Basically see what you can salvage from it and only way to see is tear into. Good Luck...

I tore into her on Sunday. The gear off of the pinion shaft is toast. I think that the fluid probably came from the incident on Friday when it went out. I just put fluid in it roughly a week or two ago.I was able to pick up a replacement rear on Sunday evening luckily, so I'm going to replace it and change the fluid (if any) in the replacement. Does anyone happen to know how much fluid I should put in?
