No 1st gear

My 95 TSi AWD jumps out of 1st. It grinds when downshifting into 2nd, but I CAN start out in 2nd. I recently replaced my clutch, and master and slave cylinders. I can downshift into 1st however. The 2nd gear grind doesnt bother me nearly as much as the jumping 1st.

Is it synchros? The actual 1st gear?

Should I mess with trying to repair it or should I just try to find an AWD tranny from a junkyard? (I am on a tight budget)

I can be sucha scmuck! I did a little more searching and found out that the adjustment of the clutch pedal could cause this problem. I let out the adjuster and BAM I have a 1st gear. WOOHOO!!! Symborski bushings and BG Synchroshift........HERE I COME!!!!
