hey wassup....i jus picked up a 91'laser rs for 200$..with auto tranny 100k ...it seems to be stcuk in 3rd gear alll the time.,, reverse works...neutral works....no L gear no 2nd gear.....i already ripped out the TCU every thing looks fine... i didnt see any leaky caps....im going to be pulling the codes from it soon ..and i was jus wonderin if anybody else had an idea of wat might or kood b wrong...because i really dont think its an internal problem i think its a control issue....

Could be the wiring to the O/D switch. WHen I replaced my shifter in my auto, I destroyed the O/D switch and circuit board to it. I just threw the wires back together and then it was stuck in 3rd and wouldn't shift to 4th. That thing wouls hardly get out of it's own way. It was like trying to get a standard going in 3rd, not as easy as it sounds. I suggest checking your O/D switch wiring.

Based on the codes that you PMed me with and the information given in your first post, I would guess that you would have some type of connector/wiring harness problem as it would be unlikely for both of these components to fail simultaneously. The solenoids are located on the valve body under the trans pan however, I would recommend that you ohm these solenoids starting at the computer so as to test the entire circuit for continuity.
