does anyone know how to get the pin out of the main shifter block that hold it to the main shifter rail. its not like a normal roll pin. it is like a solid piece. i have to pull the rail out to change the shifter seal.

Basically, you'll need to secure the bellhousing somehow, and just pound at that roll pin with a strong punch and a big hammer. I'm talking BFH, and it's going to take some serious pounding to get the thing out. And then it's just as much fun to put it back in.

is the piece screwed in. if i drill it out could i get a new piece to screw back in

So I went at this with punch that fit inside the roll pin and then beat it and the end broke off, then I started to drill the punch/pin out but was unable too. What is my next step?

The easiest way is with an air hammer and a fresh point tip while having the shift shaft and bellhousing secured. It just takes a few gentle/accurate pops to get it started, then you can finish the rest of the job off with a 3/16" roll pin punch along with a bit of actuating the shift shaft to get the roll pins out from the bottom side without binding it up.

Use a Chicago Pneumatic CPA046078 0.401" tapered tip punch on an air hammer. They are around $15 each.

I would also recommend a 4# mini-sledge hammer to make life easier with a quality set of roll pin punches either in Metric or SAE. The 3/8" (M5) punch is what you will use most.
