I have my transmission out of my car(doing an engine rebuild). I was wondering if anyone knows the shift lever ON THE TRANS positions? You know how the lever on the trans moves from middle,up,and down. When in these positions, what are the relative gears when you move it left or right? Hope you know what I'm saying. If you could explain it like this.....

up and right= x gear
up and left= x gear

middle and right= x gear
middle and left= x gear

down and right= x gear
down and left= x gear

Thanks.

its a bad thing that i did know this in my head, many sleepless nights. but this way was way eaiser to explain..

left on the shifter knob is down on the shift selector. so right is up. middle is middle.

looking from the top of the transmission in its installed position
towards the rear of the car is 1-3-5
towards the front of the car is 2-4-r
