well im pretty sure they dont make them for dsms... BUT they do make them for lancer evos? They have 4g63s, do they have the same drive train, cause if so...

http://www.racegears.com/Products/Partsjapan/Ikeya/IKEYA-Sequencial Shifter3.htm

i would so want one of those... so cool

EDIT: yeah i looked around, the kit for the evo 7 is about 860 that is SOOOO awsome, im sure it can be made to work? if not just bolt up? any ideas

it will work I am getting one for my 98 spyder with a evo3 motor, tranny, and rear end
if you use the stock tranny you will also need a evo 3 shifter sence it is a 95.5 car and the motor ant tranny are the same as the us eclipse but with out the 270hp stock

$1300 for sequential shifter ? quit being a pansy and get a short shifter and learn to shift fast. contact Ty @ roadraceengineering. he made a sequential shifter really cheap. and works pretty well. seen the videos.

so with a stock 2g manual trany, will it work? or does one need to do an evo trany swap?

also when you pay that much you deffintly get your money's worth ikeya formula makes shifters for wrc and i think jgtc, and plus you get a sweet shift indictor for the dash...

The EVO rally cars use a sequential transmisson that cost a boat load of money. I know the STI sequential transmisson cost about 50k. I'm not sure of the exact cost of the EVO tranny but I bet it is close to the price of the STI.

oh forget a full sequential transmission, those do cost a boat load, those are sometimes clutchless (no peddle) and use a computer to activate cluches and stoping the ignition durring the shift i belive.... all the one that im talking about does is move the cables to shift way fast, and operates with pull and push... ikeya formula claims they shift much faster then any person could, cause i guess there is no side to side movement... the driver just pushes

ill look aroudn for the evo iii shifter

Albins Off-Road Gear out of Australia makes a Dogbox with helical cut gears for the Evo 3 which will fit in our 1G or 2G DSM's. They make both 5 and 6 speed boxes. The price is only 3,420 USD plus shipping. http://www.albinsgear.com.au/You can shift these without a clutch, just bang those gears.

road race didnt make it a chezch company that has a dist. here in the states makes em RR just bought one. I talked to mike yesterday about it. you still have to use the clutch but its way easier becaue it puts a 2 foot shift knob on there and its right next to the sterring wheel

its this place right here

there is another thread below this one that has alot of info in it. so does the locked for no reason thread entitled DSM 6 speed or something.

first of all this is not a sequential transmission, its a sequential shifter, it uses ur stock transmission and u still have to let off the gas and use the clutch to shift, it just changes ur stock H pattern shifter to a up and down pattern, the shifter costs about 1500 bucks, and the sequental trans itself to go with it is another 7 or 8 grand
parts for an evo 1-3 will work, parts for an evo 4-7 will not, evo 4-7 trannies are on the opposite side of the engine, so its not going to line up, u can get one for a dsm from seqshiftusa.com, but its nothing but a waste of 10 thousand dollars unless ur putting it in a rally car or a 9 second track car, buying the shifter by itself is a waste of 1500 regardless of what u put it in, ur going to end up shifting slower with a sequential pattern if u didnt buy the trans and still have to use the clutch, not to mention how horrendiously ugly a 2 foot tall shifter is
in any type of racing u will never see a sequential shifter used without a sequential trans, a sequential patttern will shift faster then u ever could with an H pattern, but u will shift slower with a sequential pattern because u cant push the clutch in as fast as it shifts, its just a waste of money, unless u have 10 thousand for a full sequential set up theres no point in getting only 1 part of it

The kit that Albins off road sells is an h-pattern dogbox so you can shift as fast as those shift cables will move. No clutch needed and the added durability of the dogs with the combination of in-house machined billet gears makes it a good buy. You also lose a large amount of weight by replacing the synchronizer assemblies with dogs. Quoted from an email they sent me “The gears are machined in-house from billet and are %30 stronger then the mitsubishi gears.”

it relly has no clutch? how does it work?

and if there is no cluch it would certainly make for a much simpler auto to manual swap, albiet an expensive one.

im fairly possitive it still has a clutch, all other dog gear boxes still do, u just dont have to use it when upshifting, u still have to use the clutch to get moving from a stop, and ur still supposed to use it when downshifting, the gears are simpley made to always line up so u dont need the clutch to shift, u just bang it into gear and it goes right in
even sequential trannys used in pro races still have clutches, ever see one of those race cars spin out and have to start moving from a dead stop? iv seen dozens of race cars burn their clutch completly out spining the car around and getting it moving again
