I installed a new clutch about 3 months ago. From the start, it was messed up. I could drive it for about 5 minutes then it would start slipping. It also engadged really high up, like it was almost completely let out. I adjusted it under the dash, by the petal. That helped it out alot. But it still engages high up, not as high, but still high. I can drive it now and it doesnt slip unless i drive it really hard, like slamming the gears. To fix it when it is slipping, I have to bleed the clutch, then it is fine.

My question is, is there another place to adjustment point under the hood? Does anyone have any suppestions or help?

Joe

what is the flywheel step ?

Has to be between .609 and .618

What kind of clutch ?

James

absolutely !!!

It is a very finute measurement.

You said the flywheel was not.... what flywheel is in there ? was it resurfaced ?

James

hmmm ok... 2g nt... I don't believe you have a stepped flywheel then !

Where did you get the flywheel from ?

Have you tried to bleed the clutch hydralic line ?

What about leaks at master and slave cylinder ?

JAmes

I adjusted the pedal some more and it works fine now. I also bled the clutch again for good measures. Thanks

im having the same problem... i put a new clutch centerforce dual friction it slipped on me.... its been a month... what could be wrong??? i think im leakin transmision fluid too.... trans makes noise... ughh this car im driving a 2gnt too... idk what to do.... my clutch grabs high on the pedal

i don't understand . did you disconnect the clutch fluid line to the slave? It isn't needed to swap a clutch out. anyway make sure you have a helper to help bleed any air out and make sure it isn't leaking.

it looks like you are trying to race it and "slam the gears" before the clutch has even broken in. please tell me im wrong or you may as well pull the tranny out and replace it again

uh no, I'm not trying to "race" it. Its an RS..LOL I allowed for the proper breaking period, about 700 miles with no high revs or fast shifts. It is working fine now. It just needed to be adjusted, but thanks.

look under the dash there is an adjustment
loosen the lock nut it should be over above the gas pedal (was on my 91) i forget whcih way you need to turn the rod play with it some try one way a couple turns then try it if its worse then go the other way after you take the turns out you just did and then go a couple and try it
once you get it right tighten the lock nut
as long as the clutch is new like you said and there is no air in the hydralics for the slave cylender this should fix the problem
