In my talon, im pretty sure that the throwout bearing has gone bad. Should i just replace the throwout bearing or should i get a new clutch. This is an AWD car, how hard would it be to do it myself or should i take it somewhere and have someone else do it?

.610 is the step.

Replacing the clutch is a pain, but if you have a friend its not too bad. Use the VFAQ, it works pretty well. And I would suggest doing it if you have to replace the t/o bearing, becuase taking the tranny off in xxx miles to change the clutch you could have changed at the same time, well, I hate yanking tranny's :)

HEy what does it feel like if your throwout bearing is gone? My car is boosting up but the horses dont go to the wheels.

Sounds like your clutch is going not the throwout. The first time I changed the clutch I looked daunting. If you follow the FAQ its not all that bad. Much easies to get out than in. now i have done a bunch of times and its cake. 1 neat trick I was told and it worked great was when putting the tranny back in was to take a couple of pieces of ply wood and put against the back of the intake and the firewall. Now stick a small scissors jack in between and turn the jack it will push the motor foward making ALOT easier to get in. And getting the tranny up in there and alighned is definately the hardest part. Good luck
