Hey guys, long time no see.
I have been so busy with college and the girl friend that I haven't really came on hear in a couple years.

Well, I am back and in need of some tips.

I have noticed an interesting noise develop into something that is now troublesome.

At first it would be a kind of chirping that would occur when the car was in neutral and the chirping has no correlation with engine speed. When i would press in the clutch, the noise would disappear. (this lead me to believe possible input shaft wear or TOB wear.)

Tonight I was noticing that the noise has evolved a bit. The chirping is still there and as prominent as ever; however, I now get a metal against metal grinding noise when the clutch is pressed, so I either have chirping or metallic grinding. There is a clear point in which this noise changes if I press the pedal slowly.

These noises appear to be coming from the bell housing so I know I am going to have to get my hands dirty and drop the tranny out to really find out what is going on.

Basically I wanted to tap into fellow DSMer's experiences, and see if anybody has had a similar issue and what the cause of that issue is.

BTW Stock clutch and 139k miles. Sucker has held out like a champ and I can guarantee it will be replaced while I am in there.
