Ok here it is . When my car is cold and it is idleing , when I push in the clutch (while in nutrel) and then let it out , the car rolls Mmm maybe 1'' . This only happens when it is cold . I s this something to worry about or not . I talked to a mechanic and he said because I had some trans work (barings and stuff) that every thing is tight in there , and it is nothing to worry about. Please let me know what you think.

I think this was posted in the wrong forum ;) Good luck w/ it though!

Just how cold is it in Detroit? It's gotta be really cold, or you have some really thick oil in there. Maybe try switching to a lighter oil.

Yeah Im thinking its the cold wheather . It hasn't been above 30 deg. in about 3 weeks. Im not sure What oil is in it I haven't changed it yet (only had the car since Oct. I'll be changeing it in the spring when I pull her out of storege.

its nothing... all thoes parts move around freely... its just when you shift into gear, you couple them. when its cold, they arent lubed and dont 'slip' around the pinion shaft like they normaly do. you could have one with a tight bearing BUT i wouldnt worry to much about this unless it happens when its hot too...
