I'm using the tranny off a '95 TSI AWD, and Rear Diff for my '98 GSX. Do I need to use the Transfer case and Axles?

95-96 have different gear ratio's than 97-99... ask me how i found this out
The rearend gear ratios are the same, you have to match up the transfercase to the transmission. 95-96 tranny matches up with a 96 and down (including 1G) tcase; 97-99 tranny requires the 97-99 only tcase. The front diff has slightly higher gearing in the 97+ cars, and the tcase does too to match the rear gearing up to the front.

Axles should all be the same, if the both std. & have the same rear diff (ie both LSD or non-LSD, as there is a difference) & there both either ABS or non-ABS. Not sure how the auto axles compare.
The intermediate shaft is supposed to match the transfercase/tranny for the awd's. But since I'm doing the awd swap, I found my 98 GST does use the 95-96 AC compressor mount for the 95-96 intermediate shaft.
That would be fine, the axles have to match the LSD vs non LSD rear end. The 2g years don't matter for the diff itself. When the tranny is matched to the proper transfercase, their final output ratio will be the same.
So if I kept the 98 Tranny in with the transfercase but swap the LSD Rear Diff in, I would need the Axles from the LSD Rear Diff Also?
