i got a problem here. hence im am in this forum. on my way to work today i had some problems getting into gear. wasnt to bad driving but reverse was a #####. to avoid grinding reverse i normally shift to second and then reverse. well today i did that, GRIND. tried again let the clutch out a lil. GRIND. tried again finally went in. it seems the clutch pedal sticks for a split second. it doesnt pop back. like i push it in all the way and quickly let my foot off. it takes an extra second to pop back. second gear was bein a lil stubborn too. my step dad took my car to the car wash and i got an undercarriage wash as well. could that effect anything ? like maybe some water got in there and the cold is effecting it. this is the coldest week we've had here so far.Or do i just need to face it, my clutch is f*cked. any ideas would be helpful thanks.

update on my status. well im am pretty sure the cold effected it. i let it set in the garage. my parents park in there but their at work. let it set there for 2 hours. was havin problems gettin it in gear in the garage just messin around. 2 tries into reverse. got it in and went for a 15 mins spin. some slow regular shifts and some quick shifts. now it shifts like a dream. i guess its the cold. just needed to be warmed up. im lucky some nice lady flashed her lights or i wouldnt be typing now. i was at like 85 and just staring to slow the speed limit is 40. a speed trap is up ahead but no cop is ever there. sure enough there he was.

Tranmissions shift like crap, the clutch is a little lazy.... yes it's just the cold. I've driven a manual trans in WI weather for 8 years now, and everytime it gets extremely cold, as it is now, everything doesn't like to work. This goes for Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mitsubishi...owned a manual trans car from each of these companies.... it's just cold effecting the fluid in the clutch system and the trans oil not wanting to lubricate like it usually does.

I just replaced my slave cylinder and it made a world of difference, i thought I was losing my trany but my clutch slave went out, when I replaced it, it was shifting like new, It was a huge load off.
