Twin disk install gone bad??

I installed my new QM twin disk setup from Devo tonight, and the 1st thing I do is put it in gear, rev it up so I finally feel it NOT creep forward at 6800. It makes it almost to the rev limiter with flying colors, then I hear some horrible noise like splines grinding(whine) then my car jumps forward. I let off and killed it.
Then I started it to move it forward, put it in 1st and started letting the clutch out. The car started moving foward a little, then I hear the same whine so I kill it.

What did I do wrong??

I removed the pivot ball shim. The kit came with a new Mitsubishi TOB and clutch fork already trimmed for the clutch. I adjusted the pedal down so it wasn't pushing the TOB too far.

Did you let the clutch all the way out and drive it? These clutches do make some noise when you push them in.

I don't think the car will even drive.
I heard the noise that I'v been reading about, but this was WAY louder.
Also why did my car lunge forward with the clutch still pushed in??

Weird, I know these clutches make alot of noise when you go to engage them. Keep me up to date as you know I will be doing the same soon. The transmission is out of mine at the moment and is getting opened back up to see if I damaged anything.

It's possible that you installed the disks the wrong way. They appear to be the same but they are not. One has a hub that is flush and the other doesn't. The hub in the first pic needs to be on the engine side against the flywheel:

The next pic is of the disk with the recessed hub. That one needs to be on the tranny side:

If you assemble them, it makes sense that they would have to go on this way for clearance.

I would say you have them in the wrong way and the two hubs either seized to each other or are creating friction.

Thank you very much!!!
I didn't even pay attention to that. I put it in the car in the same order it was in the box shipped to me.

Looks like I'll be bringing my laptop with me to work today to reference pics while I pull my trans yet another time.

There was ONE time I revd it past 7500 w/o anything grabbing. But once it grabbed as soon as 3500 or so. Normally it would grab between 6k and 7k rpm.

It would grab so hard it was leaving 4 marks on the shop floor and jerk your neck. I was afraid to try it. At least when I launch it I KNOW when it's going to happen. haha

Jack, I really appreciate all the help and information you have givin me through this whole process.
Thanks

Ben was it the order that you put the disks in or was it the splines that you pm'd me about?

The splines. They were in the correct order but the disk closer to the engine has 21 splines, and its only supposed to have 20 splines(like the disk closer to the trans). So it would just spin on the input shaft of the trans. good thing I only drove it 2-3 miles. The input shaft still looks unharmed, but both disks has chunks taken out of the corners and edges of each friction surface.

When I would rev if up it would start wobbling enough to grab the friction surfaces. So it was just beating the shit of its self and the other disk(through the steel).

So hopefully Quartermaster or the shop you ordered it from are taking care of this? Man you will have me looking at mine when I get it in but I am going to wait and order mine after I hear how yours turns out. HAHA you get to be the test subject.

Still no contact with Devo.
So I called QM today to order 2 new disks cause I can't just sit and wait for someone else to answer a phone before I can drive my car.
They don't sell directly to the public so they said go ahead and send them the disks. They are going to go make sure they are brand new like I say, then send me new disks back the same day they get them from me.

I sent one email and called starting sat afternoon.
I called a few times monday, but I went WAY overboard calling on Tuesday. haha
I'm sure that's why he didn't answer Tuesday. I havn'e called back since I got ahold of QM.
They got them today and said they'll replace them, no problem. I paid for overnight shipping back to me, and I'll have em tomorrow.
I can't wait to finally feel what a twin disk is supposed to feel like.
AND finally be able to rev past 7 and the clutch not drag.
I can hook my 2 step back up.
My new meth pump just came in yesterday too. yyyaaayy

Good luck with it all. I really hope it all works out for you. As far as the vendor goes file a report with the BBB.

nah, I'm sure there's a reasonable explination for him not repsonding. He has a decenlty big name he has to keep clean. He can't be doing things like this on purpose and still keep a good rep. So i'm sure there's a reason. I know he just moved his shop, and I'v also read that Devo is only a 2-3 person team.
It's only been since Saturday. And I did call him a shitlaod on Tuesday.
He(I think his name is Adam) was extreamly helpful when I spoke to him, and the 1 or 2 times he didn't answer he called back immediatly or within the hour.
I thought it was kinda jikky that he was running a busniess from a cell phone, then I found out he JUST moved. So that's ok.
It's not like he quite answering after he got my money, he still answered when I was having problems with the clutch.

I'v had much worse experiances with other busniess.

EDIT: I talked to Jeff at QM so I put "Attn:Jeff" on the box. When I talked to QM today I asked for Jeff, he said, "uuhhh which one?? There's about 5 Jeffs here" haha. So "Attn:Jeff" on the box ment nothing. haha

All is well finally and I LOVE it all.
The combination of thiw twin disk and my Jacks rebuilt is amazing.
I finally can use my "no lift to shift" on my keydiver, and it's so smooth.

When I engauge the clutch it sounds like a little belt squeal, that's all. And then the rattle with the clutch pushed in of course, and the noise in the rear end when slowing down in gear too.
It's really not that hard to drive though. I have killed it a few times though.
I went out last night to test it all, and ona few test runs, there just happen to be a bolt on GT500 next to me, then later on a bolt on 04 cobra with a ported blower. Oh and before those 2 there was a twin turbo LS2 GTO.
