I am just finishing off my 2g tranny rebuild. I was putting my viscous coupler in and it won't seat all the way and I wanted to make sure I did everything right before I just tried to pound it in.

It is seating all the way until the shaft becomes flush with the top of the VC. So the groove for the snap ring is just below the surface. Does it just need to be worked in there? Or is this the result of something not aligned? If anyone has experienced this or has any suggestions please let me know. I'll be plugging away at it after I post this.

Ok, well I got it part way down by hitting it with a rubber mallet. But I still ony have half of the ring groove showing. This seems harder than it should be...

If you spun the trans while the VC was out the splines may not be aligned. There are TWO sets of splines that need to engage the VC.

You did reinstall the retaining ball that fits under the VC and retains the output shaft didn't you??
