A little background on the car. 1gB talon awd. The car currently has 100k miles. When I first bought it, the shifting was very notchy. Got it home, replace the master, slave and change the tranny fluid. It shifted better. But it is still crap.
In order to get into 1st, you must slam it into 2nd than first. Clutch grabs right as you let go off the pedal (inch off the ground). It grinds.
My tech is letting me know that is proably a worn disc, pressure plate or a bend fork. And he is charging me $600 plus parts. So uck that..
So I am in the proccess of ordering a 2600act clutch and a act flywheel.
Now, here are my questions. Should I get a 4,6 puck or disc?
I am still on the 14b and the car won't see as much than a br20g.
More questions =/...
I am going to be following BRstar(sp?).
What should I replace since I am already down there?
Fork? Pivot ball? Are all these parts easily reach?
I say this because I only have basic tools, I mean basic!!! Wrenches, pliers, sockets, I am in the process of buying a tourque wrench and a socket to be able to remove the hub. That is how behind I am.
Man, I am sure nervous. I don't want to uck anything up haha..

Do alot of reading and preperation. Make sure you take your time and keep track of all the nuts and bolts.

Yeah guys, I will have 4 days to do this job. It should be more than enough. There goes my spring break..
Also how would I know if my car is equipt with a7 or 6 bolt?

I would replace the throw out bearing with an OEM one (and get a new tob clip), the fulcrum ball, the fork, and get new OEM flywheel bolts while you have them out. Also look into a SS clutch line if you don't have one already. You might also want to replace some seals (axle, rear main, etc.) while you're in there. I'm not sure if you would have to deal with the transfer case or not. Yes, all of these parts are easy to replace. You'll find the fork, fulcrum ball, and tob/clip all connected inside the bell housing. Just remember how the tob clip is oriented when you remove it so you can put it back on correctly.

If the car is daily driven, I'd say get the disc clutch. From what I've read, some of the puck clutches are just too grabby for stop and go traffic. Yet, some people use them in their dd. So it's all on what you want and can put up with.
