Difficulty shifting

Okay, Ive been searching for the last 2 hours on what to check on this car. Now I need a little insite to make sure I'm not chasing my tail. My car hasn't had any tranny issues up until this point.

Was cruising down the highway after leaving work, went to get off the highway to make a stop before headed home. I went to grab 4th and it didn't want any part of it. Tried 3rd, same result. Forced it into 2nd and pulled into my destination. Did what I had to do and when I came out and started the car to leave, I had to force it into reverse. After forcing it into 1st and then 2nd I got to a point where I had to stop. I then couldn't force it into any gear. Turned the car off and tried to start it in 1st, the car lurched forward but wouldn't start. I pushed it back so I could look at it. The pedal has good pressure, the clutch fluid is full, there is no excessive play in the fork, there are no noises and I don't see any leaks. While I called my girlfriend, to tell her I was going to be late because I had to wait for AAA to get my shit and drag it home, I decided to try it again...it worked perfectly like nothing had happened without fixing/adjusting anything. Drove the entire way home (some 5th gear cruising and some stop and go...about 12 miles worth) shifting like butter.

Now my questions are: Is it the slave failing? Did somehow the adjustment move and then right itself? Did air just find its way into the system somehow? Throwout bearing or fork failing? Is something broke in the tranny?

I'm going to bleed it, check the adjustment, and make sure all bolts are tight tomorrow just to be sure of the easy checks. I'm kind of stumped because it makes NO noises and drove fine except for that time getting off the highway and pulling out of the parking lot. I'm open to any and all suggestions of things to check. Clutch fork and ball are maybe a year old, with maybe 8000 miles. Clutch and slave are a few years old with maybe 15000 miles.

Thanks and sorry for the novel, just wanted to be sure I covered it all.

Well the way you describe it sounds like you need to bleed the clutch, and/or adjust. If you tried to start it with the clutch in and the car jumped forward the clutch wasn't engaging. I would think if it was something in your tranny it would still be doing it.

i can lift my pedal after it has been pressed and the pedal has returned, which leads me to pedal assembly problems like dnhieu mentioned to me in another thread...

now as for my problem if i can put the car into any gear when its off...cant put any gear when on...at all no gears budge...now say i put in in first, start the car with the pedal to the floor almost out the bottom finstone style and the car jerks forward...meaning the assembly is fubar thus not letting the clutch disengage.

i have bled the slave many times, put new slave and master...adjusted the master as much as i could...till its flush with the back nut...any more ideas??

thanks.
