does anyone have a spec clutch installed in thier car? if so do you like it? i just recieved mine and it looks like a good kit. My friend has a 240 and he has one he loves it i just wanted to see how they are on a dsm

The guys over are SPEC are great people in my opinion. They were a big help when I was building my turbo 93 Ford Probe. Supplied me with the current clutch and flywheel in my 9 sec Mustang and I have a setup on the way for the Talon.
I love thoes guys, can't say enough about them. Good luck with your car.

Well depending on what you go with I think they are decent. My bro has a stage 1 clutch in his sr-240sx and it burnt up pretty quickly. I think it was our fault for getting such a weak clutch. It was said to hold 250ho or so and we are making exactly 250whp and 250ft lbs on the dyno. So I guess the rating of the clutch is a little over rated. My other frinend has installed a sage 3 on his 240 and so far so good!

As for the stage three, it is a sprung 4puck clutch and WILL hold a sh!t load of power. Pucked clutch is not for the weak, this sprung ordeal is new to me and it is a lot nicer than a straight pucked clutch...

How is ingaugement with the stage Three? I had a 6 puck in my RX7 and it was HARSH mine was a ACT heavy duty PP and a 6 puck unsprung disk...with the way I drive I slip the clutch at lauch with my GSX and the ACT SS disc lasted bout 13 months.that was racin all the time.. but I would really like you opinion on the clutch... thanks

Nick

i have the stage 3 in my gst.. its a sprung 6 puck i believe. and i love it, very little pedal pressure, and can hold like a mofo. so far i love it, any questions let me know cause have more experiance than most with it on a dsm

A lot of the 3000gt people like this clutch. 3sxperformance sells them and they get really good review about the light peddal pressure and strong holding power.

The clutch does chatter until it is warm but it can handle over 300hp pretty easily.

so is the stage three more like the ACT 2600 or like the 2100...I've noticed on enjukuracing.com that the stage 3 is a pucked style clutch I've had a pucked clutch on my RX7 and I tell ya it seems little too harsh for my DSM's drivetrain....but what I wanna know is....is the stage three really harsh or does it engauge like a organic clutch

thanks,
Nick

its is a puck style clutch but the engament isn't bad at all, i would say its the pedal pressure of a 2100, but the grab of at least a 2600. with a puck clutch you would expect on off style but its not bad at all, i had a very easy time getting used to it, its a great clutch and should be perfect for my application
