re-using pressure plate question...

i was wondering how many people are reusing their pressure plates for their yearly clutch job? i was reading through some threads awhile back and seen that a few well known dsm'ers are reusing them all the time and just swaping out clutch disks.
i have to do 2 cutch jobs on both of my talons and have 2 pressure plates with around 5k miles on them.

Inspect them. If you see lots of hot spots and or high and low spots then ditch it, you can't resurface it properly. If it has even wear, and no to minimal hot sports and no scoring or grooving you can reuse it successfully.

thanks. i was reading through some threads on talk and diambo4life said hes used his 2600 PP for like 6 years now! you cant tell me he doesnt have grooves in his PP after 6 years of track use...

If you need a new friction disc after 5,000 miles, both your pressure plate and your flywheel are liable to be toast.

Use that dead pedal more.

Both clutches were taken out because people were parting their cars and were just going to throw them away. me being a dsm junk collector thought that someone or myself might beable to eventually find some use out of them so i took the both of them. they both had alot of clutch disk on them and little to no uneven wear. they do have a few hot spots tho...
