1g 5speed in 2g

I was wondering if a 1g 5 speed will fit in a 2g that is a 5 speed?

I think it's possiable but it would need to be moded to fit. Because of the different speedo and trans mounts. I hear that you can run a Evo trans in our cars if you mod the trans. But I'm not sure because it's I heard it from a person of a person.

The 2G trannies have 3 of the 4 engine mounts attached to it. The 1G trannies only have 1. If you mate a 1G tranny to a 2G block you will only have 2 engine mounts. You either need to do lots of custom fabrication, or swap in a 1G block at the same time as they do have the mounts on the block. But that needs to another whole ball of wax.
