Anyone know if the Montero and mighty max have the same chassis? Im gonna do a 4G swap to an older montero and was wondering what anyone know about them, this has been done to mighty max's just wanna do it to a montero. ok lemmie know

What does it matter if it is the same chassis? What important is: do they come with the same motors? This should be easy enough to check. Just look into different motors offered on Monteros.

I know from my STARQUEST experiences, The D50's and mighty maxes had two available engines. The G54B 2.6 and the G63B 2.0. Unforutnately the G63 is the SOHC predesessor of our mighty yet tempermantal 4G63. Since the 4G63 is transversely mounted you may have to use some enginuity to fab up mounts in order to properly have it sit on the K-member. As far as Transmission issues you may get lucky if you get a 2.0 D/Max trans, it should bolt up (take that with a grain of salt) if you have the 2.6 trans the only thing i can think of that will bolt up is a 4g64 since it is a wider block. I remember I had issues doing my 4G63 swap on my Conquest since that engine was never meant to be in that car. Though in Japan they had the Starion 2000GSR wich also came with a Turbo G63 SOHC making roughly 142HP at the crank.
