Hey guys i called and the reccomended Break in time is 600miles?!?! dosn't that seem a little much?

Also the guy didn't even ask me what clutch i had , So i believe he could be talking out of his poop shoot.

And on a side note , Guys with them how are they holding up and how do u like them

600miles sounds about right to me. Besides, better safe than sorry right?
I broke mine in for at least 700 miles and it took a lot longer than that to reduce the chatter. I called the spec guys about the chatter and we came to the conclusion my flywheel was probably cut/resurfaced with a bit of runout and thats why I had such severe chatter problems. But I've been driving this clutch for probably 8 months or so now and I've got no complaints. It definitely took me a long time to learn to drive it well, however, my motor mounts were sacrificed in the process and I've just now discovered that so I'll have to replace them/window weld them very soon.

Engagement in first is still sometimes tricky, I hate driving my car in traffic...soooo much. But other than that it holds great and grabs super hard when I let it.

I would imagine people with healthy flywheels would have even better results than me.

I would like to try driving an ACT 2600 w/ street disc before I lay down finaly judgement though. I'd have no clue which is the better street clutch until I've tried them both.

Well i have the Stage 2 , With a ACT flywheel. Do you know why Spec reccomends such a long break in?

Is it because they are like the ACT's where you have to break them in so you dont break tranny parts due to there clamping force.

or like the Centerforce , where they have to heat and cool heat and cool till they get "hardened"

from what i recall spec only neeks a 1k break in. 6k miles is almost a years worth of driving on these cars. it would take forever. i know when i reached 1k i pulled right over and launched the bi*** and its been holding well.:thumb:

i also had a spec stage 1 and it slipped but that was because i didnt buy a new friction surface for my fidanza flywheel. while it was grabbing it was a very easy to drive clutch. the spec stage 3 makes the car not very fun to drive in traffic in my own opinion. in my car i feel its got a sporatic grabbing point depending on how much i have driven the car. the hotter it gets the harder it grabs. so after a few slips of the clutch (normal driving) its grabbing like a damn monster. it grabs so hard sometimes that it shakes my dash and im sure my transmission isnt like at all. it is slippable tho just the enguagement point is sometimes iffy. sorry if thats hard to understand.

i have also had a act 2600. the pedel is VERY stiff and i personally love it. the reason i didnt get another one was because i dont want my clutch pedel to go bad and went with a clutch that had alot less pedel pressure. well come to find out any clutch will wear your clutch pedel out and i will be pulling mine shortly and having it welded. my fully built 2.0 is gonna get another act2600...
