Automatic Trany doesnt switch gears sometimes

I have a 95 eclipse RS automatic tranny. Sometimes when i start it up the car will not switch up gears it will stay in first and just rev rpms up but not switch. I dont know whats wrong with it, but when i turn the car off and turn it back on it runs fine. I dont know whats goin on, so if anyone knows why the AT is being retarded let me know.

i know someone with an eclipse with the same exact problem my auto tranny is retarded also but it doesnt do that.. yet. my uncle has a talon tsi with an auto tranny and his does the same thing mine does it bangs when shifting from 2nd to 1st ever had that problem, i have sent my car back 2 times to the shop and they have no idea.. but as far as your problem my friend is still stumped on the situation. AT trannys on dsms are just horrible imo but good luck.
