I went to Renner Mitsubishi (Milwaukee, WI) a few days ago, to break down and have PROFESSIONALS install my passenger side axle seal - because 3 of mine had leaked. After a couple days, when they had time to look at it - they determind that my transmission was leaking between ALL of the cases. I don't know if I used bad sealant, (RTV RED - High Temp) didn't torque enough, had a hairline crack or what but its something that I need to fix soon, and I don't want to pay the hundreds of dollars to have the dealership do it.
I have taken apart this transmission a couple times before, and the VFAQ write-ups make it easy. I have done a center differential repair/replacement before, and I was able to do it without dropping the transmission. My question is: Can I get to ALL 3 cases ON-CAR? & Should I stick with RTV BLACK?
