well here is some basic info on car.

98 gst. 104k miles. act2600. ive owned the car since 93k miles two years ago. goes to show how much down time ive given the gst heh.

well it started off being the clutch. i replaced that with the 2600 kit, which came with pressure plate, street disc and oem tob. then it still grinded occasionally. i replaced the bushings on the shifter with polyurethane ones. bought metal bushings for the shifter cable going to tranny. replaced the oil with pennzoil synchromesh. bought an extended slave rod. bought new master and slave cylinders. bled both cylinders. put a washer in between the rod and master cyl. adjusted the master rod almost all the way out, left just enough for it to hold.

well the washer finally brought the engagement point finally off the ground. it shifts a bit better but once i rev it high, lets say while racing, ill try to put it in second, it will either
A. stop right before it gets to second and take a second or two. i have to let go of the gas for it to go in also.
or B. grind and not go in and me have to push it back out and try again.

3rd gear is the same story.

what i mean by stop i mean, its like if it doesnt want to go in and it sits half way from neutral and 2nd gear or whichever gear. it doesnt do it in low revs.

when the car is off the shifting is so crappy. i can really feel the inbetween part of the shifting. lets say i put it in 2nd 3rd or 4th. it pops in twice. once in between and then again into gear. I have to put it in 1st gear for reverse to catch easily, if not its either hit or miss.

when the car is on reverse is sometimes crappy to shift into so i just put it in 1st and then reverse to make sure itll catch it. its a habbit now.

i hope ive provided good enough info to maybe start guessing probs. let me know if you need any more info.

There is a thread on the first page of Drivetrain Tech with links on how to fix a lot of shifting problems.
