who has a quaife lsd and is fwd?? i have a built tre tranny w a quaife lsd just not installed yet and just wondering how some of your fwd guys like it give the low down wi how traction is, my car should be making around 400+ on pump hopefully when it comes out and just trying to see what kind of gain the lsd will give for traction thanks alot
! At first I'd get on the throttle as I used to coming out of turns working my way up to the point where I'd normally start to lose traction and start pushing the front end around. Not anymore! The front end of the car just stuck to the road. In fact, the car was taunting me saying "more throttle! more!" I could now start applying the thottle a bit earlier and giving it much more coming out of a turn than I ever used to be able to while keeping the front end glued to the road. Hell, I could still turn the wheel and the car would respond and go where I pointed it! MADNESS!!! Good times learning to drive the car all over again, and you will... Of course when you find the breaking point with the lsd, the car will react a little differently than it did before. Kinda freaky the first couple of times, but I got used to it pretty quick. The car is so much more fun to drive now!
). As far as traction goes, there is defently a noticeable difference. In first I don't think that turning the boost up to the normal 20 psi will have much of a difference, since there isn't enough load in first to build more then 10 psi anyways. My first gear now is like what second use to be, I still get some slippage but you can defently tell both wheels are spinning and you don't have to feather the throttle, sorta just on the edge of traction (what all of second used to be like). Once I hit second there is zero slippage but that can be expected from the low boost. Accelerating throught corners is alot better as the car still wants to turn and not just push and spin. Also in the rain the traction is noticeable, takes much more to get the tires to spin & when they do break, they spin much slower then the one wheel spin.
