Hey everyone here's my situation: Most of the time my tranny will be perfectly fine, I mean its pretty knotchy, and the synchros suck and everything but what DSM tranny isn't right? But here's the problem: Lets say I'm cruising in a gear for a while (like 3rd for 10/15min) then put it into Neutral when I come to a stop, I press the clutch in and when I go to push it into first it just grinds. Almost as if it didn't disengage. This happens only after I keep it in a gear for a few minutes or longer most of the time. I'll put it back in to N and then let my foot up and depress the clutch pedal again and it usually goes in... I don't know what it could be... And another thing about 4 months ago I filled up and my Master Clutch Cyl. w/fluid and now it has dropped a little (maybe 3/8").. I don't think this normal, correct? Your not supposed to lose any fluid right? And the pedal is somewhat inconsistent - it will grab low then high etc. Any ideas? Could this ALL be caused by leaking fluid somewhere? THANKS a lot I appreciate anyone's help - Erick

As far as your 1st gear grinding, the most common cause of that would be a worn syncronizer. If the gear does not get up to speed it will grind. Now,about your fluid level, your right that is not normal. It sound's like you have a slow leak somewhere.Start with the obvious first.ie cap, lines and then move to the more difficult.By that I mean the slave cylinder.Look for a bad seal around the shaft. This could also be the reasoning behind your gear grinding. If the shift fork is not being dpressed completly, that will make you gear's grind also.
ps good luck
