Well my clutch is totally smoked ,but i am trying to decide what clutch to get.I called R.R.E. and they said to go with the centerforce dual friction .My car is all wheel drive and ocassionally ran at the strip but i dont want problems with braking trannys and sh**.I already changed my clutch master and slave cylinder this week so does anybody have any recommendations???

i looked at your mods boostman, you should be good w/ a act 2100 if you don't really mod any more. If your going w/ more power go w/ 2600, i don't mind heavy foot from the pressure plate at all. If anything it gives me a good excuse for noone else to drive the car. Ive had awesome reliability from act in the same situation...ie street w/ a little track use. I personally don't know about the dual friction. Ive been through/with 3 act and all have treated me well.

well i have the center forcer dual friction, and i've put it through the test daily; 4000rpm launches, speed shifts, and i have no complaints; however my motor is almost all stock so i'm not really running enough power to put a lot of stress and strain on my clutch - from what i've read it will handle 300hp+ i think; however consistant 3500 to 4000 rpm launches with a turbo and moded out i also read that you will get clutch slippage and failure you would have to let the clutch cool down between runs or risk burnin' it out. I also read on the same site the act 2600 will with stand that kind of abuse without damage

I am a former CFDF owner that switched to the ACT 2600. Very happy with the ACT over the CFDF. I did not like the pedal feel with the CFDF. A buddy of mine just toasted his CFDF and switched to the ACT 2600 which he loves. My vote...Get the ACT...

I also used to have an ACT 2100, then a CFDF and now have an ACT 2600. The 2100 and CFDF both feel like stock. The 2100 is good for 13 flat or so. The CFDF will not take repeated launching, the copper in it heats up too much. If it is just street it's fine, but don't take it to the track. The 2600 is awesome, but I do have to match my RPM's on downshifting or it chatters. Might be the lack of balance shafts and light Fidanza flywheel too.

This might be a stupid questions but what do you mean by it chatters?
I don't think I have ever heard mine make any noise.

I love my 2600. People say it's good for a lot of launches. I have about 35 on mine and there are no problems so far...

good luck deciding

All of my friends and I have a act 2600. When I have to replace mine I'm going with a act 2900. I don't mind a stiff pedal and I abuse my clutch not my drivetrain. I have put about 40 launches on mine slipping the living piss out of it and no problems at all. It'll grab just as good hot or cold. I launch at 6000rpm and slip the clutch heavily. A cfdf will take this once.

go with the 2600. the pedal stiffness isn't that bad. you will be used to it in a week. before i bought mine i did a lot of research on clutches for our cars. 98% of people who had both clutches say the 2600 is 10X better & cheaper.

My brother bought a 92 TSi AWD with a CFDF, the guy said it had 5000 miles on it. It failed in two weeks because he can't drive and was always slipping the crap out of it. I got a 2100 in my galant but that's with a 6 puk. My friend has a 2600 in his TSi AWD and it's an awsome clutch. Grips and holds, lowered crusing rpm by at least 200rpm and has taken all the abuse he has given it. (he pulled a 1.89 60' on a stock clutch that failed two weeks later, good driver). As most people will say get the 2600, the pedal isn't that bad, and it holds, and takes the abuse.

I was wondering which clutch is better for street use since my GSX is a daily driver I dont want a real heavy pedal but then again I plan to try to get the car into 11's?

I also heard that the 2600 is a tranny breaker.

The act 2600 is the one you want. Every clutch that grips hard is a potential tranny breaker. If you rev it up to 6krpm and drop as your launch technique you'l probably break trannies. If you practice reserve and rev it up to 6krpm and slip the living piss out of it you won't break them. I paid good money for a clutch for a reason it can take whatever I throw at it. My motto is abuse your clutch not your transmission.

With the ACT clutches you can replace the disk and use the PP again, the big guys slip from 5k and replace the disk every 30 or so passes but it keeps the drivetrain together, I like week links in the drivetrain I choose tires, clutch disk. Slip slip slip is what I will be supporting this year with my new setup I will have to update my profile soon..... go with the 2600 you wont be dissiponted.

i say get the 2600 over other clutches... i've tried clutch masters stage 3 kevler clutch and i killed it in about 6 months... got 2600 now and it's the best so far...
