ok so the other day i was out tuning my car and i did several 3rd gear runs, and a few 1/4 runs. as the day ended, it was really only at the very end where i noticed it was getting much harder to shift, and it progressivly got worse. Now i have to double clutch and Most of the time it wont grind going into a gear just driving around town.

I've replaced the slave/master clutch cyls, and the clutch doesn't slip. So how do i check to see if i crankwalked the car? i've heard that i may have so i'm not a very happy camper atm.

Sometime the enguagement of the clutch changes, and also sometimes when i shift in a gear it bogs down the car as though the clutch is slightly enguaged even though i have the peddle all the way down. And when i shift out of gear (if i don't do it quickly when i press in the clutch) Sometimes it also gives me problems as though the clutch isn't dissenguaged all the way

I had that same problem recently I thought it might be my slave or my master cylinder going out so I replaced both of them but didn't do anything I tried adjusting my clutch pedal and it only works fine for a couple of blocks after that it won't disengage again so I went ahead and took out my transmission and found out that my clutch was done for
one of the springs on the clutch disc is laying between the pressure plate and the clutch disc and it was cut in half

another one of the, "shit, my valve cover is leaking oil so i must have crankwalk" threads

did you check your clutch pedal assembly? Have someone sit in the car and push on the peddle while you lay on the ground and watch the fork move.

wow... yes i've done that thanks. #### you too dick. A lot of the crankwalk reports i've read have mention having a hard time shifting, and describe some of the same symtoms. If i had a 2nd vechical i'd drop the tranny and chk the clutch but i wanted to do some more research first before i did that. I'm full time student and work 40+ so i don't have much time and i need my car every day so its hard for me just to on a whime take down my car and fiddle with shit that is just fine.

Guess i'll pop off the rubber sleave for the fork and see if i can make See all the springs are there and correctly placed.

how to check: put a prybar between the block and your crank pulley and see if you have any play. also a way you can find if its crankwalk is to drive it, which may not help you much now since its difficult to drive...but you drive it and take a hard left hand turn and if your petal drops you have crankwalk. just keep your foot on the petal and you will feel it. dont fully let go of the petal just enouch to engage the clutch.

from the sounds of what you said. id say no you dont have crankwalk. just check everything. go ahead and take your tranny out if you dont find anything wrong, somethings wrong in your clutch assembly.

I am currently experiencing these same symptoms, however I have a six bolt. I think I just need to adjust my clutch pedal....

Flush and Bleed the hydaulic clutch system, and bleed and bleed and bleed it until the peddle is firm, and a clear bleed line shows ZERO bubbles on each bleed. If the symptom persists in less than 1 week, you may have a cracked/leaking clutch line somewhere. If you inspect the entire clutch system and cannot find any leaks at all, and your resevoir is maintaining FULL level, and the symptoms still persist......you should check ALL of your bellhousing bolts and make sure they are all tight. ( I have seen a DSM tranny that worked loose/lost a bellhousing bolt and the tranny would seperate slightly under peddle pressure)

If the problem STILL persists and the engine hasn't otherwise died yet, you can change your oil and filter/screen/microscreen your oil and look for metal shavings......ANY metal shavings.

If you have ANY.....you can assume a 6 bolt swap is in your near future.

Start saving....now.

I do not have any experiences with failed clutch discs but it is still a possiblity because I have SEEN a clutch disc that expelled a spring and it would not work properly regardless of anything the guy tried.

Most of all, best of luck to you.
