how much does a 1g fwd turbo automatic weigh

Hey guys, i am selling an automatic trans from a 91 tsi fwd, i tied to weigh it on my scale and get 180 without the converter, sounds kind of heavy to me, doesn't feep any heavier than an awd 5 spd tranny which is around 130. Does anyone know roughly what they weigh. I am trying to give the guy a rough estimate on shipping. thanks

I wouldn't doubt it weighed that much. I helped pull a 2g fwd auto and it was MUCH heavier than a 2g fwd manual.

i sold my old auto tranny on ebay, weighed about 140lbs. manual one weighed 100 give or take

I'm pretty sure 180 is accurate.
