Hey I just pulled the transfer case off because it was leaking between the transfer case and the engine. I was trying to test it so I put fluid in it while it was off just to see if it would leak and all the fluid came out of the housing for the driveshaft. Is that supposed to happen? Thanks for the info. :thumb: :talon:

yea hehe
Put the oil in there with a bottle and a pump they sell at autozone when its on already. Make sure its snug tight because sometimes it leaks a little bit... and if your transfercase runs dry you will hear a huge scratching and grinding noise... =) Transfercase only takes a little bit of oil , oil has to be under the screw enough were it will barley leak out...

Yes. The FSM advises that when you remove the transfer case that you keep the yoke (the part that the driveshaft goes to) tilted upwards to prevent the gear oil from leaking out.

So if you want to test the other Tcase seal, just tilt the Tcase so the back end is up, and pour some oil into the end.
