13 sec car wiht luk clutch

my clutch blew about 2 weeks ago and the guy put in a heavy duty luk clutch i have a 13 sec flat 92 AWD talon could this clutch hold the power of the launch wihtout blowing it.


please help obee :talon:
 
Define "heavy-duty". That's a term that seems to be thrown around rather loosely these days.. Along with "high-performance"

If it was a Luk clutch it's a standard OEM replacement clutch. All of the vehicle applications that they make use a standard friction material. I've had a dozen or more of their pressure plates tested and the DSM plates usually fall in somewhere between 1500~1650lbs of spring pressure. While spring pressure doesn't necessarily dictate how well a clutch will grab, the friction material definitely does. The heavy duty applications usually just add a bit more metal content to the friction surface.

If you abuse the hell out of it, you'll eventually burn it up. If you plan on racing and whatnot, I'd definitely recommend a actual performance clutch that is better suited to what you plan on accomplishing. The choices are varied, so take your time, do your homework and pick a clutch that will work best for your setup.
