well the past week its been harder and harder to get my car in to reverse. i have fully adjusted my linkage and was thinkin my transmission wast the problem. today driving to work i lost 2nd,4th, and reverse. when i looked into the engine bay i realized that the boot was ripped and the linkage was my real problem. my question is how hard is it to swap out linkages for a 91 awd? it doesnt seem too difficult but any pointers would be appreciated.

thanks tuners :thumb:

its not to hard, and i got my new cables from a junk yard for 25 bucks for your own reference. You will need to get access to your firewall under your stereo because there is a bracket that holds the cables down there, and there are 2 bolts that bolt to the firewall on the inside, 2 bolts that bolt to the tranny, and 2 cotter pins on the shifter. By the way, if they dont have 91 cables, get 92-94 cables, do not get 90 cables they are different. Also When i get my cables they did not have AWD cables, so I got fwd cables, but I also got the tranny bracket off and I have ever gear. Alot of people were having problems with this setup but It has been solved. If you have problems just post up. see ya :talon:

thanks alot for the help man. my linkage took a dump and im stuck driving my car with only 1st,3rd, and 5th. i manually shift the transmission into reverse (so imbarassing LOL). anyways thanks for the reply man it would have taken me forever to figure out that their is two bolts holding the linkage on the inside of the firewall and not the outside.

thanks
david
