OKAY...

I drive a 95 tsi awd talon w/ abs

95 stock rear diff says BFH viscous LSD on it 3.545

98 replacement diff recently purchased says BFB and also 3.545

seems like my orig diff is viscous and the second one im using to replace the first one is helical lsd.

The axles from my 95 wont work with the 98 diff becaues the passenger side rear axle spline is too long.

SO WHAT AXLE DO I NEED? My guess is a 98 gsx w/ abs passenger side rear axle.
Also, all the mounts on the diff are old and broken/torn. the lower mount is toast and the two upper mounts are also cracked. price is 125 for the front lower mount and i cant get a price yet on the upper mounts that are on the subframe. anybody know how i can fix those cheaper???

somebody with a 98 gsx go look under the back of your car and tell me what your diff says on it, does it say bfh, or bfb...what in the hell do i have?!

THANK YOU

Are you sure the 98 is an LSD rear end?? from 97-99 the are very rare to find. The funny thing is drive shaft shop only has 2 set of cv joints. on is LSD rear 95-99 with and with out abs and the other is non lsd 95-99.

pretty sure its a lsd. if you turn the front of it where the driveshaft connects, both sides turn the same direction. like i said though, its not a viscous lsd like my stock 95 one. its different.

I actually went to the drive shaft shop online last night looking at there axles. That picture is what my passenger side axle looks like that I have now. The slightly longer one. The problem is its going to have to look more like the driver side one which is the stubby one in order for it to fit in the diff that I have.

It sounds like you have a non LSD rear end.. Does it say LSD anywhere on it?? spin one of the cv joints and if it goes the same direction then it's an lsd rear end.. If you turn the diff from the front, bouth side will spin the same direction.

There's not another kind on a DSM.
