No 3rd or 4th, I think I found it!

I took apart my tranny with only 2000 miles since the last rebuild to find this. The collar that engages 3rd and 4th was littered through the tranny and the shift fork was broken in half!

The shift fork cracking is common since they are aluminum. As for the collar portion....hell I have no idea. I was shocked when I saw it myself.

I was dring down the highway and shifted from 3rd to 4th like a grandma when it happened. I am glad no parts went through the tranny though. What a Fed up day that was.

I think the fork was cracked and shifted the collar crooked and shattered it when it went to engage the gears.

That is all I can think happened!

I thought it was a drift pin or a broken shift fork at most...not all of this!

Yeah... I'm wondering if the collar moved into a position where it tried to engage more than one gear at a time, and blam.....

Only one thing knows what happened and that thing that knows is broken. Honestly I have no idea. It can not engage both gears at the same time so who knows. It is time to fix that is all i know!
