well, alot of people on here are talking about how a high power AWD launch will munch up trannies.... so my question is, after the first one dies, is it worth it to get an aftermarket one that will last, or should I just go to a junkyard and find another 5spd off a dsm?

I would have the tranny rebuilt. Theres no performance transmissions for an eclipse, unless you get a ralliart dogbox $10k-$15k, the so-called "performance modifications" performed by some people are not new. I have been doing these for about 4 years. The double synchro is factory on certain years, along with other things. You can bring your trans to any transmission shop and they can do these things if you ask.

Can you tell me which years this came from the factory? I bought my double synchro 2nd from TRE, but if I could have bought it from Satan I could have saved 60+ min of cell phone time on hold with TRE.

No free weekend minutes?

I believe the 2G tranny has double synchros. Don't know the specifics...but I'll get some more info.
