I was under the impression that when you got an ACT clutch, you got a 2100, 2600, etc. Well I'm selling one of my cars this weekend, the kid said if I knocked a couple of hundred off the price he'd give me a brand new Fidanza flywheel, and a brand new ACT clutch kit. He had a GVR-4 but it was stolen, he's not much of a mechanic I kinda gathered from talking to him. Anyway he told me he called Buschur and told them he was making his GVR-4 a heavy duty car and they sent him this setup. Only thing is the kid can't find what kind it is...........he called me tonight and he looked everywhere and all he could find is the numbers "MB-010X" on the pressure plate. The disc is apparently a street disc. I looked up ACT's on the web and I either found this numbering system or the traditional "2100-2600-2900" system. So what gives?? Are there two ACT clutch companies?? I'd like to know since this setup sounds pretty hairy for my mild street setup and I'll probably sell/trade it. It would be nice to know WHAT it was.

We have never used the 2100, 2600 and 2900 ratings in our cataloging, but for some reason DSMers got hooked on it. They represent the respective clamp loads we offer. We use Heavy Duty, Xtreme and Maxx Xtreme in our advertising. The MB010X is most likely the Xtreme (2600) but there is the slim chance it is a Maxx Xtreme if the number came from the diaphragm spring and not the packaging. Sometimes the Xtreme and Maxx use the same spring depending on how they test after heat treating.
