One of the jobs of the converter is to act as a fluid coupling from the motor to the transmission. Another, and a very important function, is torque multiplication. What remains is stall speed, a very misunderstood term. Stall speed is directly related to the amount of torque your engine produces (the greater torque, the higher the stall speed). Is this mostly a race mod or is it streetable?

Its very streetable...unless you want a ridiculously high stall speed. But getting one that stalls at like 3200-3600 won't effect drivability. The converter won't "work" unless you are driving hard or racing because like you said...stall speed is directly related to torque. The only thing that I would do, and am going to do is keep the converter a lock-up. That will make for longer life.

PM nano...I know he has a high stall TC.

I was thinking about getting a high stall TC too and was wondering if it would damage my tranny faster than the stock TC? Also what is a good stall speed to have and still be able to drive on street?

It's not damaging for the tranny. Our stock converters slip the same way...the higher stall versions just slip until a high rmp is reached. The only thing that would decrease the life of a new converter is to get a non-lockup. A shift kit will prolong the life of the tranny more than anything. I think a good stall speed is 3200-3600. Is your car turbo? If is is put your car in 1st gear....cruise like that until you are at around 3200 and punch it. Almost instant boost. This will give you an idea of the benefits of a high stall TC from a stop.
