Ok, one lovely day i'm drivin down the road and stop at a stop sign. Start to go again and i aint goin nowhere fast... clutch is gone right? could that have possibly been my slave cylinder going and than my clutch burning up afterwards? I ordered a clutch and put it on today and when i got my motor all back together and my slave cylinder installed i have no pedal... even tho i didn't take the cylinder off of the line i still bled it neways to see if that was the problem but all it did was gimme a TINY bit of pedal... Could the slave cylinder be bad? or could the adjustment be off considering i put a new clutch in? whooo knows i just need some answers cause i'm gettin frustrated and am about to start going bazerk  thanks hopefully sum 1 can help....

Brett

did you replace the entire clutch assembly, or just the clutch disc? did you swap from a stock clutch to something better like act or anything?

when you first encountered the problem, did the clutch pedal feel different? like hit the floor or anything?

i broke a slave cylnder off once right after i pressed the clutch... pedal just went straight to the floor and i was on the interstate... not fun!

have you looked on the inside passenger compartment, behind the clutch pedal to see if the clutch master cyl. could be leaking slowly?if not try bleeding the clutch mas cyl. or holding hand pressure on the clutch fork by the slave cyl while bleeding. sometimes the added pressure helps any trapped air to escape

Yes, I put an aftermarket clutch in from Exedy and i replaced the housing and everything. When i pushed in the clutch to stop it just went straight to the floor that's why i was thinkin the slave cylinder went. I've bled the slave cylinder by pumpin up the clutch pedal and bleeding it right by the slave cylinder at the end of the hydraulic clutch line but is there something else to bleed behind the clutch pedal? or is there some adjustment considering when i replaced my clutch it was so burnt up there were metal shavings alllllllllllllll over the place and it was metal on metal contact so could the huge change in pad size be in need of adjustment or something???

you say metal shavings? eeek... did you have youre flywheel machined to the specs that where specified by exedy?

aslo, do you still have the little resivor on the side of the tranny that makes "softer" clutch releases?

J

yea, it was metal shavings off of the clutch disk, you know.. the part after the pads are gone... LOL I've never seen that resivoir but is it mounted to the tranny and inline of the line to the slave cylinder??? if so i'll have to check on that but i checked and the flywheel meets exedy's specs.. so im set there. i'm just getting ready to go out and bleed the hell outta it cause this guy my dad knos races cars and said sometimes he has to put a half bottle of fluid thru it to get it to work right but who knos we'll see what happens i'll let u guys know..

Thanks,
Brett
