Ok, my car is finaly back togeather and this time, its sporting a new clutch kit. I opted to buy the SBR 3500 clutch kit because my ACT's spring desided to break one day. Well... i guess well get to the review...:
My first impression of the kit when i got it in the mail was ehhh.. The first thing i saw was the pressure plate. The pressure plate itself looks pretty good. The only thing that pissed me off about the pressure plate was that it was painted like ass. Its like they spraypainted it red, without masking anything off. Half of the fingers were red... OH WELL.. not like it effects performance..but still for 400 bucks, thats not a cool thing to see for a "first impression." ... Now on to the clutch disk.... I was very very impressed with the clutch disk. This disk just looks tough. The center hub on the disk is held togeather with 6 rivits.. Go count your ACT's rivits... Yeah there are only 3 on the ACT.... so thats it pretty much for the looks...
Now... how it performs..... Ok... ill be honest, my grandmother could drive this car now. The clutch pedal is non existant compared to the ACT i had. Every time i pushed the pedal, i thought something was broken because im so used to a heavy pedal. Honestly.. i think i like the heavier pedal more just for the fact that i know i have a strong PP. But i will get used to it... its just so weird that the pedal is so light. I have never drove a 2100, so i can not compare it to that. But ill say ATLEAST HALF the pedal pressure of the 2600. I have not launced the car yet...or drove it really hard. I have only put 33 miles on it today. Even though SBR says "no break in," ... im gonna break it in. Im not taking a chance.. You should break any clutch in.
So all in all.. I like this clutch kit. So far so good. We will see what happens when i get more miles on it, and start beating on it. If ya got any questions, feel free to ask.
P.S. My clutch kit did not come with the Mitsu throwout bearing. It came with the competition clutch throw out bearing. The comp clutch TOB has a metal sleve and a completly sealed bearing. I didnt have time to go get a Mitsu TOB, so i said screw it.. I am using the Comp clutch one. Honestly.. This TOB looks alot nicer then the stocker, and so far is alot quieter then the other stock ones i have had.

...) look awsome, me too didn't come with the OEM t/o bearing, but I keep the one I had (I changed it 3 month ago when I put the 2100), because I have a break-in 500 miles, I'm still not over yet but I can say the pedal pressure is like stock (or 2100) but when you clucht first speed you notice a huge clamping power, other speed are very smoth, but first you very feel the clamp, so I need to be carefull, because easy to do a little to must fast with not enough gas and it stall...

the snows almost gone here....I hope
