I got a 97 Eclipse non- turbo and my clutch is starting to go to hell. I was wondering if it's worth it to get an expensive aftermarket clutch (possable ACT) I don't plan on making tons of horsepower but I want to be able to smoke the occasional civic. I got the basics (AEM Cold Air, Hi Flow Cat and a Cat-back)s sould I get a OEM clutch, a triple plate ACT, or is there something in between that I can get.

Oftentimes a stock clutch is not much less$ than an upgraded one is.

I don't remember what a stock clutch runs$...but I'd probably just do a light upgrade while your there.

Get something like an ACT 2100 clutch...(if they offer it for non turbo?_)

Or, you could get a Spec clutch...I and my friends all run (or are going to run) them in our turbos...and LOVE THEM! They offer a stage 1-4 upgrade(for turbo and non).
Call them up and see what you can get.
I got my Turbo model Stage 3 clutch shipped to me for $300 total.--and it has STOCK pedal pressure.

If I were you...I would probably just get a stage 1 non turbo clutch... likely wouldn't cost too much either. :)

ya if your not gonna be running alot of power then just go with the act 2100 or the centerforce d/f. they are both good clutches, and are pretty easy to drive with.

I would say to definatly go with an upgraded clutch. When I got my ACT 2600 and the lightened flywheel from RRE it was like I was driving a totally different car. The amount of power loss I was having through the stock clutch was crazy.

Since your not going for all out power you could just get the 2100 and it would do just fine for you. I say get the lightened flywheel while your at it though it only costs $130. I'm not sure if they do it for a non-turbo though.

i have the spec clutch too and is competly garbage and im goin to post something in the n\t section
